Security meeting with Stakeholders

COUNCIL BOSS CONVERGE STAKEHOLDERS ON SECURITY MEETING ACROSS OJO

There is a well-known Yoruba proverb that says “Onbo onbo awon la de de” it translates to “While expecting them, we lay in wait”. This is why the Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Princess Muhibat Titilola Rufai has converged a community stakeholders’ meeting recently at the Council Secretariat to highlight the importance of collective responsibility and communal readiness to protect our domains from external threats.
Also, this meeting serves as a warning that ignoring early warning signs such as allowing criminals to find safe havens in our communities or shielding bad actors inevitably leads to severe danger for everyone.
It is on this note that the Executive Chairman, Ojo, Hon. Princess Muhibat Titilola Rufai has converged a stakeholders’ meeting to deliberate on the prevailing security challenges facing the nation and explore collaborative measures to strengthen people on the security within Ojo Communities.

While addressing, Hon. Rufai showered accolades on the Chiefs, Baales and other Stakeholders for their continued support towards making Ojo Local Government Area a safe place to dwell in. She proceeded with the meeting by seeking people’s opinion on the security matters across Ojo LGA. Further speaking, she reiterated that any motorcyclists (popularly known as Okada riders) who wants to continue playing Ojo routes must be profiled, wear uniform and abide with the community work timming.

She also emphasized that everyone should be security conscious, it is a collective effort to proffer lasting solutions to security challenges, do not say you are less concerned, if it has not affected you, it does not mean you are safe, make it a point of duty to safeguard your territory from the external threats, and landlords should get their tenant’s profile through their agents, she added.

Meanwhile she frowned at the landlords who allows the motorcyclists to sleep in front of their houses at night, and those with incomplete buildings, this act would no longer be condoned as bad actors use it as a hideous.

The member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Ojo Constituency 1, Hon. Olusegun Adebisi, Ege in his own remarks gave a special credit to the Executive Chairman for organizing this meeting, it shows that we are planning ahead of the evil doers. At the National Assembly, the State Policing is still in progress if it scale through the third row definitely the Legislators in Lagos State will domesticate it in Lagos to be used, he assured. He also emphasized on the issue of motorcyclists that should be a matter of utmost priority. We need to be careful of how we chose our thing, there should be task force that will apprehend whosoever that violates the given rules.

Lastly, the former Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Rosulu Olushola Idowu in his own words urged the religious leaders to be vigilant on those who sleeps in the churches/mosques. He implored the Baales, CDCs and CDAs to work together as their progress lies in their unity. If there is any rancors between them, this is an avenue to resolve it because of the community safety and progress.
