Meet the WORKAHOLIC MR. PROJECT

A highly cerebral, proactive and enigma of change. Hon. Rasulu Olushola Idowu  (Mr. Project) was born on the 7th of January, 1968 to the famous family of Alhaji and Alhaja A.G.T Idowu of (blessed Memory) IkemoCompound Oju-Olojo Quarters, Ojo.

He started his primary education at St. Michael School, Ojo and then proceeded to the prestigious Awori College, Ojo for his secondary education. He bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the same university.

A very diligent, hardworking and resilience Rasulu spent all his working career as a Public Servant who joined the Lagos State Local Government Service as a Clerical Officer but worked his way to the Administrative Cadre. He has been able to achieve so many feats due to sterling qualities and phenomenal leadership style. He voluntarily exited from the service after he has put in 28 years of meritorious service in which he served in many sensitive managerial and administrative positions.

Hon. Rasulu Idowu is a seasoned and astute administrator with outstanding achievements and vast experience in the management of the people and resources. He contested for the post of Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government in 2017 Local Government Elections and won with landslide margin to beat other contestants. This justifies the confidence of the good people of Ojo Local Government in him to deliver. He came on board with robust ideasand changes the narrative of governance to better. As the Executive Chairman of The Most Caring Local Government”. During this period, he reconstructed many roads, rehabilitated schools and kitted the pupils with bags, sandals, and uniforms. He also embarked on massive turnaround of Primary Health Care sector with equipment and drugs and also periodic Health Care Outreach Programmes in all the 5 political wards. The Local Government enjoyed peace and tranquility as he embarked on economic empowerment for Women, Youths and Vulnerable People with amount ranging from N25, 000 to N100, 000 on periodic basis, construction and rehabilitation of drainages and culvert across the local government, provision of boreholes at different areas of the local government,

 provision of speed boats for teachers and pupils studying at riverine region, donation of over 15 power transformers (500KVA) to various communities to boost electricity supply, food and cash gift gifs to aged, widows and the vulnerable, artisan support, routine medical checkup for residents, financial assistance to tertiary institution students and regular bursary awards, distribution of palliative to cushion the effect of the recent economic hike amongst other laudable achievements, too numerous to mention.

There is no doubt that Hon. Rasulu Olushola Idowu is a visionary leader, trusted and tested with uncommon and impeccable achievements in governance. He re-contested for the post of Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government on 24th July, 2021 at the Lagos State Local Government Elections and won with distinct margin to beat other contestant for the second time.

He’s a fellow of the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN) and Nigeria Association of Education Administration and Planning (NAEP), he has won many awards which includes but not limited to: Award of Recognition and Outstanding Performance from State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Award of Excellence as an Icon of Societal Development by  National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Award of Best Performing Local Government Chairman in Nigeria, 2018 by Rootatch Magazine, Ethnically Ranked Local Government Area in Nigeria by Center for Ethics, Award of Recognition in Performance of Sustainable Development Goals Project at the Grassroot by Lagos Pranorama Community Service Exceptional Leadership,Award of Recognition by Rotary Club of Okokomaiko, Award of Excellence for Outstanding Performance presented by LG News Academy, Award of Leadership and Meritorious Service presented by Badagry Division Local Government Staff Forum and many Community Service Awards by Community Development Committees in the Local Government Area among others.

He is a detribalized leader. He was honored with chieftaincy title “Ekweme” by the Ndigbo Community in OjoLocal Government Area. He loves reading and sporting activities, he is happily married with promising children.
