
**Ojo LG Swears In New Officials, Rolls Out WHACES Development Agenda**
Ojo Local Government has officially sworn in the **Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisory Councillors, and Special Advisers** as part of efforts to strengthen governance and accelerate development across the council area.
The ceremony, attended by traditional rulers, political leaders, council officials, members of the press, and other distinguished guests, marked the formal inauguration of key members of the Executive Chairman’s administrative team.
Welcoming guests, the Executive Chairman expressed gratitude to God and noted that the ceremony represents more than a routine oath-taking. According to the Chairman, it signals a renewed commitment to delivering responsible leadership and fulfilling promises made to the people of Ojo Local Government.
The newly appointed officials were reminded that their appointments come with the responsibility of translating the administration’s development blueprint, known as the **WHACES Agenda**, into tangible results for residents across the local government.
The **WHACES Agenda** focuses on six key areas:
* **Works and Infrastructure**
* **Health and Social Welfare**
* **Agriculture**
* **Capacity Development, Sports, and Creative Arts**
* **Education, Library Services, and ICT**
* **Security and Community Partnership**
The Chairman charged the new appointees to work diligently to ensure the agenda delivers meaningful improvements across communities in Ojo Local Government, including markets, schools, commercial centers, and riverine communities.
She emphasized that the period for political activities has passed and that the focus must now shift fully to governance, service delivery, and measurable results that directly improve the lives of residents.
**Support for Traditional Institutions**
In recognition of the vital role traditional rulers play in community leadership and grassroots development, the administration also announced the presentation of **two brand-new 2026 Land Cruiser Jeeps** to:
* **His Royal Majesty, OBA Galibu Rufai, the Olojo of Ojo Kingdom**
* **His Royal Majesty, OBA Durosinmi Adekanbi, the Osolu of Irewe Kingdom**
The vehicles were described as operational tools to support the royal fathers in carrying out their traditional responsibilities and strengthening collaboration between government and local communities.
**Operational Support for Council Leadership**
To enhance effective service delivery, the administration also approved the allocation of operational vehicles to key officials, including:
* The **Vice Chairman**
* Members of the **Legislative Council**
The Chairman stressed that the vehicles are government assets meant strictly for official duties and should be used responsibly in service to the people of Ojo Local Government.
