**OJO LG CHAIRMAN PRESENTS ₦9.8 BILLION “PEOPLE-FIRST” BUDGET FOR 2026**

The Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, **Hon. Princess Muhibat Titilayo Rufai**, has formally presented the proposed **2026 Appropriation Bill** to the 10th Legislative Arm during a special plenary session held at the Legislative Chamber, Council Secretariat.

The **₦9,800,563,903.51** budget titled *A Budget of Renewed Hope and Consolidation* reflects the administration’s commitment to a more prosperous, secure, and inclusive Ojo. In her remarks, Hon. Rufai described the budget as *“a covenant with the people, a strategic blueprint to consolidate our gains and deliver on our promises.”*

She emphasized that the renewed hope driving the administration is anchored on the foundations steadily built since inception.

**Sectoral Breakdown & Key Priorities**

**Works & Infrastructure**

Focused on delivering quality infrastructure, improving community healthcare access, and addressing critical water scarcity challenges across the Local Government.

**Health & Social Welfare**

Strengthens primary healthcare facilities, expands preventive healthcare programs, and supports women-focused initiatives such as **COMLSO**, alongside empowerment programs under the Renewed Hope platform.

**Capacity Development / Sports / Education / Library Services**

Targets youth advancement through ICT training, skill development, and educational support.

**Youth Development & Sports**

Includes provisions to sponsor Ojo youth delegates to the **National Youth Congress**, reinforcing the administration’s belief that the youth are the backbone of the community.

**Security & Community Partnership**

Aimed at deepening collaboration with security agencies and enhancing community safety systems.

Responding on behalf of the Legislative Arm, the Leader of the House, Hon. Teslim Rahman Jimoh, assured that the lawmakers would work diligently to scrutinize the budget and ensure its full alignment with the needs of residents.

He reaffirmed the Legislature’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to every part of Ojo Local Government and commended the Executive Chairman for her unwavering dedication to progress and development.

In her conclusion, Hon. Muhibat Titilayo Rufai reiterated that the 2026 budget is **entirely people-centric**, describing it as *“a compilation of our collective needs, hopes, and aspirations.”* She reaffirmed her administration’s resolve to build a transformed and prosperous Ojo for all.
