Ojo LG Holds Year 2026 Budget Consultative Stakeholders’ Meeting as Princess Rufai Unveils “Budget of Inclusiveness” Vision for 2026
The Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Princess Muhibat Titilola Rufai, has convened the Stakeholders’ Meeting to commence preparations for the Year 2026 Budget, themed “Budget of Inclusiveness.”
In her keynote address, Princess Rufai emphasized that the meeting was not a mere formality but the foundation of participatory democracy, reflecting her administration’s determination to ensure that citizens have a direct voice in governance.
“This meeting represents the very bedrock of our democracy — a clear testament to our belief that the people must have a voice in how their commonwealth is managed,” she stated.
The Chairman highlighted several ongoing community development projects, including the construction of Primary Healthcare Centres in Ajangbadi and Taffi, a new primary school in Taffi, provision of public boreholes for clean water across wards, and the development of a strategic access road at Ikemo Quarters.
As her administration’s first 100 days draw near, Princess Rufai disclosed that more initiatives will soon be unveiled. These include support for public primary school pupils with educational materials, empowerment programs for youths and widows, and enhanced welfare for the elderly.
She also presented her administration’s comprehensive development framework — the WHACES Mission, which focuses on:
- Works & Infrastructure
- Health & Social Welfare
- Agriculture
- Capacity Development, Sports & Creative Arts
- Education, Library Services & ICT
- Security & Community Partnership
According to the Chairman, WHACES embodies a holistic approach designed to ensure balanced growth and sustainable development across all sectors.
Princess Rufai urged residents to support government efforts toward a cleaner environment, especially within Iyana Iba, reaffirming her administration’s people-centered vision:
“The work has begun! The budget we are crafting will be your budget — one that touches every ward, every age group, and every gender.”
The Head of Budget, Planning and Statistics, Mrs. Olunuga Beatrice, stated that the meeting was designed to promote transparency and public participation in the budgeting process.
“We do not want to plan behind closed doors; we want everyone to participate. That is why this meeting is about inclusion and collaboration,” she said.
Delivering a goodwill message, Pastor Cornelius Oyefolu Ojelabi, Lagos State APC Chairman, commended Princess Rufai’s inclusive leadership, describing the forum as a platform for citizens to express their needs and priorities. He encouraged residents to maintain a clean environment, register for their PVCs, participate in elections, and support community security initiatives.
“We are the ones to develop our local government; let’s all contribute to its growth,” he added.
