Wednesday 18th of December 2024, the Executive Chairman wife of Ojo Local Government Alhaja Mrs. Abimbola Idowu flag off the End TB Awareness across the entire local government.
In her speech, she informed the public more about the spread of this deadly disease which she explained can move from it’s primary position (the lungs) to every other parts of the body system. She moreso, noted some symptoms of TB to include coughing, chest pain, fever and weight loss and can become more severe if left untreated once discovered.
Base on this, the Chairperson advised people with weak immune systems to avoid close contact with patients suspected to be TB positive.
Conclusively, Mrs. Idowu applaud the kind gesture of the first lady of Lagos State Dr. Mrs. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwoolu on this initiative to campaign against the spread of TB and other efforts she’s initiated within the state.
Gracing the awareness initiative, is the Vice Chairman of the local government Hon. Mrs. Edna Uche-Ubochi , the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Hon. Mrs. Saludeen Abiodun , the Supervisor for Environment Hon. Joel Tudonu , the Deputy Leader of the Legislative Council Hon. Musa Ariyo , the Chief Imam, the Christian Association Chairman (CAN), and community leaders.
Others who were on ground to educate the invitees are the Supervisor-in-Charge of TB in Ojo Local Government Mr. Balogun , Mrs. Temitop Ojo (Health Educator, Ojo LGA) , Mrs. Ajao Rehanat (Apex Nurse, Ojo LGA) and the Medical Officer of Health Dr. Shosanya Abidemi
